The Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, has set up a panel to investigate alleged unfair labour practices in the beverages industries.
The panel was set up in response to the complaints on the issue by the Chairman of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group, Mr Frank Nweke Jnr, when he led executive members of the organisation on a courtesy visit to the minister in Abuja.
A statement by the ministry’s Assistant Director (Press), Mr Samuel Olowookere, named Dr Tunji Olaopa, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry as chairman of the panel.
Nweke, a former Information minister, said the visit was to afford the group the opportunity to discuss perspectives on Nigeria’s overall labour environment.
